Science Festival Edinburgh
Sat 1 – Sun 16 Apr 2017, various venues.
Edinburgh International Science Festival celebrates its 29th year with a programme packed with vibrant, innovative events, hands-on activities and explosive experiments for adults, children and families. It was the world’s first Science Festival, and it remains one of the largest to this day, putting on hundreds of events across the city each year.
The festival encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the excitement of cutting edge scientific discoveries. Previous guest speakers have included renowned Professors Richard Dawkins, Brian Cox and Robert Winston.
This year a varied programme is being planned with the theme ‘Our Connected World’ – an exploration of the Information/Digital Age and the intersection of science and technology with the digital and creative industries.
The festival will take over the City Art Centre, Summerhall and the National Museum of Scotland as their main hubs. In addition partner events will take place across Edinburgh, putting science at the heart of the city for two action-packed weeks.
Taking place in the Easter Holidays, it is the perfect opportunity for a family day out. The Science Festival is not just for kids though. There is a whole section of exciting events aimed at adults.
Full programme details and tickets for 2017 are available on the Edinburgh International Science Festival website or through the Science Festival Box Office on 0844 557 2686.
